    Good morning everyone,

Moyra...If you haven't already tried them I'd give 'sinutab' a go,they worked for me,the pharmacist can advise you better to make sure they don't interfere with any other medication you may be taking:blue thumb: It's a rotten feeling isn't it,I feel for you..Hope you feel better soon:grphg:

That wind is still howling here it was shocking last night:rolleyespink: The trees have still got a tight grip on their leaves though which I'm surprised about considering they've been battered about...just slight hazy rain here now but getting standing water after the last 24 hour deluge :doh:I must get my foxgloves seedlings potted on from out of my seed bed before the poor things are under water...

Keep warm, dry and well everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

      Aloha everyone,

Yesterday was a rather wet day but I was too busy to care! :)

Moyra, it seems to be brightening up here so I hope you get a chance to go 'walkies'. I wish you better :wub2:

@"M" I never have any trouble getting a 'local celebrity'. They're ten a penny! :heehee: We've already got the date set for the Awards presentation and gala dinner (I hate those events because of all the noise) and the Bishop is coming along to say grace (and get a free dinner ).

I'm trying to aim rather higher and get someone who is such a celebrity that we won't be able to announce it in advance as we might get mobbed by press and fans. We just want them there to be able to get a higher profile afterwards and to show that the celebrity gets involved in the community

@Jiffy welcome to Wakey Wakey :blue thumb:

I had to sort out something for Barry yesterday. Earlier in the year the Council fitted new doors to the flats. In August a part of the fascia on his door started to come away so he phoned the contractors that work for the Council. They had subcontracted the job to another company (in Wales) and he was told to phone them as they had the maintenance contract. Barry phoned them and they gave him the number of their local man - who happened to live a half a mile from Barry!

The man didn't turn up on the day he was supposed to so Barry phoned him and was told he no longer worked for the company. Barry phoned their head office who apologised and gave him a new number for a local man. Over the intervening time Barry had spoken to the local man who, each time, promised to phone back with a date to do the job.

So, yesterday Barry called me. I had a word with Wales, and the door was fixed 45 minutes later! :yahoo:

My desk looks as though a bomb has hit it! I really do need to spend some time on ploughing through everything. :phew:

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

        Morning tidings fellow WW'ers :spinning:
Dull, grey and damp here once again. It's Operation Bin Bag today, with a huge dollop of weed killer inside it ... well, it will be if the rain holds off long enough for the plant to dry off a bit!
I have some letters to write today (traditional pen and paper kind :heehee: ) - seems one son would like to have mail and I've been chosen as Production Manager. Will have to think of something interesting to write about  :th scifD36: :noidea: :wallbanging: I did rediscover some Halloween balloons (bought some years ago, when reduced but never got around to using) so I'll send some to both lads just in case they will be doing something spookily exciting for Halloween.
No need for any "sorry" - you can park your butt here anytime @Jiffy  Welcome to Wakey-Wakey :sign0016:
Thank you for that tip. Reminds me of when I used to have a couple of blackbirds who would come to my call because they loved sultanas. Even reached a point where I could feed them from my hand: awesome!

@shiney - now, why doesn't it surprise me that you know a celeb or three :heehee: Top job on what you achieved for Barry  (Pity it had to come to that though).

@Lolimac - crikey, the leaves around your way must be super glued on :heehee: Speaking of which, I don't have any trees in this garden so - unlike yourself - won't be much leaf mould going on her. Then I had an :ideaIPB: this area is full of trees = full of leaves = FORAGING!
Ok so most (sensible) people forage for fruit/nuts/edibles ... but hey, this is what dog walking is designed for

        @Zigs - is there a threat of a chocolate shortage? :scratch::noidea:

Enjoy your day, one and all. xMx

@"M" Local celebs (translated as total unknowns outside of the area :heehee:) are easy to get. Our MP should be no problem but real celebs are a bit more difficult. Most of the ones that I used to know are no longer on this earthly plane. :snork:

Cocoa won't be the only export affected.
Glad you managed to secure that last bar, Zigs :dbgrtmb:

                  Aloha everyone,

Woo, It's good to hear that Penny is improving and that Michaila's trip to the hospital was positive. :grphg:

I'm still not getting through my paperwork . I'll have to spend some more time on it this morning.

Later this afternoon I'm off to the airport for a meeting with the manager and his team to see what they are trying to plan for the future and what they are doing to help the community and local businesses. Contrary to some opinions, they do actually try to help the area. That doesn't excuse them from worrying the community with what appears to be un-needed expansion and changing of flight paths (sound disturbance) without proper discussion.

They do provide £100 grand a year for community causes which is added to by any fines the airport receive for infringements of regulations (usually exceeding noise limits). Local organisations can put in bids for funding - a few years ago I got some funding for new equipment for our bridge club, that would be used in teaching people to play bridge. :blue thumb:

It looks as though we might get a little bit of sun today upload_2014-10-15_8-20-34.jpeg

                  Have a great day

                        Morning early people :)

Bit of a grey day here, could do with some sun to charge the batteries.

Have a good day everyone and if you're kicking your way thru Autumn's golden gown, don't forget the dog poo underneath it :)

                            Morning everyone,

Its cool and raining here, but we haven't had any frost since the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, it was our Thanksgiving here and it was sooooo busy, and yesterday I was in Toronto for most of the day. I'm home today and its a catch up day.

We did get all the gardens cleaned out though and the gazebo is down and put away for another season, so glad all that's done.

Off to make a tea and get started on a few things.....so enjoy your day
