          Glad you like it.

Well you done better than me at the shows , I did have best puppy at a cocker spaniel show and she had 2nd best puppy (mixed breeds) with Harry Jordan the Judge at Windsor Champion show plus won her two classes so that was a good day I even beat her breeder.

I had great expectations for her but she was very nasty as she got older with other dogs including my own I never bred her but I think she just wasnt given enough time in those crucial 1st 6 weeks to be honest she was a total nightmare , she was amazing at the shows in the ring so confident but if any dog came near she would pounce, 99% of the time I would keep her under control until the gundog Championship show, in the ring pinned another dog down and it took me it felt like age to split them up the horrific sounds of the other poor dog , and I was sent out of the ring.

I had the breeder on the phone that night as it was her prefix on my dogs name and other people showing that day rang her and not just one !!! I bet it was the ones I had beaten several times , she was pick of litter bitch and she came to me with a solicitors letter that the breeder would choose the stud and she was to have free a puppy of her choosing" I told the breeder I wasnt going to breed from her and I never and I stopped showing from that day.
Her breeder not happy and tried to force me to breed from her but it was no every time and she coudnt do anything to stop me , she was happy with me and would of been best in a house all to her own.

Oh dear God a scenario I have heard many times, Well done you for not being bullied some of these professional breeders have to be seen to be believed. Loved old Harry Jordan what a character did steward for him many times Joe Braddon was the other one I qualified for Crufts my 1st dog under him, things you can earn from old boys like that, I came into Dogs 40 years ago My then husband had a heart attack and my daughters thought it a good idea to buy him a dog, later I bought this dog a companion a bitch....so ignorant just untrue my, did I learn fast..The bitch I bought was from a very famous breeder who lived locally so very pretty, the dog on the other hand was not a good specimen of the breed but the inevitable happened 3 pups....It just took off from there. I have mainly been involved with the Utility group, But have stewarded for Crufts all breeds starting at Earls Court, on to the NEC living in Cambridge a breeze to get to down the A45 before speed cameras.
Well am now trying to uninstall Epsom printer to install new one reckon I shall need help. When I get it sorted (It takes old people for ever!) shall put up some puppy pictures.

Aww, Dumpling is a stunning cutie pie @rosietutu - you certainly did yourself proud there!
Good luck with changing your printer - hope it doesn't cause you any headaches.

@Spruce - well done to you on your breeding too! Such a shame it was all ruined for you.

There's something about that breed (and the like) that the characters really shine through.

With a great deal of patience, They were very good but had been taught at a very early age, That NO means no and stay means stay.
All young things need teaching be it animals or kids bit old fashioned but then I am very old !

We got our Dexter when he was 18 months. He was quite defiant and self determined, which made him very alluring. I wouldn't have had him any other way :)

Hear, hear! Old fashioned doesn't not (necessarily) equate to out dated! If only more people were of the same attitude (and I mean that in terms of both canines and children!).
Teaching/patience/boundaries ... the very best grounding for both groups ;)
