    Why do I have to put my address and telephone number in when I'm paying by credit card please?

    Not entirely sure, but it may have something to do with security, as they are 'possibly' checking your payment against the registered address of your card ?

    I'm not 100% sure, but that would be the explanation that I can think of.

      Good morning I pay my donations through my PayPal account fast and safe and no fuss,.
      But then they already have my address and telephone number;)

        @Webmaster.....I still don't understand this. I need to provide my name, address, telephone number and email address. My credit card company does not have my email address to date. The appropriate box is stated as billing/invoice address and if I don't provide all these details I can't make the donation. I've not experienced this for anything else when 'buying' on line with a credit card, even recently.

        @wiseowl.......I originally set up Paypal to make donations to GC but I had issues with Paypal and deleted it.

          Dont think I've ever bought anything online, other than on e bay without, without giving my name adress and e mail adress.
          Cant understand the phone number?
          Usually the e mail adress is used to send the receipt for the money.

            I think I've always been asked for an address on every transaction online with a credit card, it's just their standard security process. I paid via Paypal and it didn't ask for a telephone number, as far as I know I never gave my number to Paypal. You could just make a telephone number up Sheal I can't see how it would know.

                I donate through paypal and get a paypal confirmation but I've never had an acknowledgement from GC. Should I worry that someone else gets the money?

                GC does receive the donations, and thank you all. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way of sending a confirmation email from GC automatically after each transaction (or at least I've not worked it out yet), hence why I started the 'thank you for donations' thread, to confirm that donations were being received.

                  This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL *GARDENERSCO".

                      I used to send Nathan a cheque as PayPal wouldn't allow me to have an account (I'd upset them a number of times by taking them to court for people :heehee:) but Mrs Shiney now has an account with them.

                      If any system asks for a phone number and you don't want to give then try just putting in zeros. Make sure you always put in eleven numbers. :thumbsup:
