            Good afternoon Beckie my friend and thank you for your lovely and kind comments, all I know is that it must be very vibrant,very colourful,70% perennial Highest at the back getting small nearer the front any suggestions will be really appreciated my friend:smile:

              Hi Woo, how about some foxgloves, sunflowers, delphiniums, rudbeckia & phlox for height along the back & to attract bees of course!
              They are all favourite plants of mine! :blue thumb:

                  I had a border of similar size and aspect in my previous-but-one home.
                  Climbing up the fence I had a Pauls Scarlet rose, pyracantha and ceanothus. That mean it kicked the season off with a glorious display of red, white and blue. The ceanothus was evergreen so that kept some interest during the dormant months along with the pyracantha (and it's glorious red berries).
                  I later added a Virginia Creeper for it's stunning autumnal colours. It was also the time I indulged in Hemerocallis to go in front of the climbers, mainly because they were an easy care option (although, after a couple of years, I did something wrong and lost them :wallbanging:).
                  Bowles Mauve I would definitely have again because it is such a long bloomer (cuttings take easily so cost effective to replace).

                      How about Lupins, Red Hot Pokers and the oriental poppies (Papaver) for height. Cistus are sun lovers as are Iris that are available in different heights from dwarf to tall. Knautia Macedonica is an herbaceous perennial and the bees love it.....although not a large plant the flower stems tend to sprawl. Rockery plants would do well at the front. :)

                      All parts of Foxgloves are poisonous.

                        Hi Woo, I know foxgloves are poisonous for humans if they are eaten but I'm sorry I'm not sure about dogs eating them. :scratch:

                          I have 6 Ceanothus newly planted and 2 Pyracantha at the top of the garden 2 perennial wall flowers(Bowles Mauve and Bowles orange:smile: I have to work out just how many I can put in this sized border 30 feet in length and 3 feet wide,isn't this exciting and challenging,these choices are not set in stone and the list will get bigger:heehee: Its such a shame that the foxgloves are so poisonous as I like them so much,but I cannot take the chance with Tiny and Penny,I already have 4 climbing Roses on the fence behind this new border,Guinee,Compassion,Fragrant Cloud,Iceberg :smile:

                            The Dogs Trust have a list of plants which are (potentially) dangerous to dogs.

                            I know I have had a few of those plants in the list in my previous garden - not realising they could be poisonous - but then I'm very lucky insofar as Ozzy doesn't really bother with plants, except to cock his leg up :doh:
