Am I crazy?
I don't know, lots to do.
This has been a pain in the behind for as long as we've lived here, 17 years.
80 ish foot long, 16 ish foot wide
Love the wildlife, hate the weeds creeping in to mine.
Thing is, maybe I can buy it
Soooooo excited
Question is how, would you tackle it?
I would keep the tree boundary, but also want to keep the many birds that inhabit the space.
Main problems are brambles and nettles, bindweed just comes as a given in this area( hate it but you live with it)

I realise it's a big job but how long would you live next to that without wanting to annex it?

 

I think with something like that you tackle it slowly.
Using glyphosate where applicable.

I'm still getting my allotment how I want it.
The last part I took over a couple of years ago was every ones dumping ground, and covered in brambles,
but getting there slowly.

 

I would be like you @Loki , itching to get my hands on it! (I have a derelict plot on one side, owner no longer allowed to build on it, and a badly maintained garden on the other, 87 yr old can barely walk...) i am still struggling to get my own patch under control, but would take the building plot in a heart beat!

I would start with cutting out the brambles, and cutting out the brambles, over and over, so at least you can get in there. Then, keeping on top of them (would probably need monthly patrols, if our bramble maze is anything to go by), tackle a little patch at a time, the most visible from your favourite part of your garden first.

I think it's a really good idea, so yes.

Suggest starting by cutting the Brambles down to ground level, then Glyphosate the re-growth, removing some scrub and see what starts appearing, taking out any pernicious weeds that appear.

This is what I got from doing that on an overgrown plot, hundreds of Orchids, plus Cowslips, Bluebells and all sorts of other stuff. New species appear every year.
