Hi all my names John and I'm from Manchester, I have enjoyed gardening on and off for about ten years and now having a place of my own and the feeling of "ownership" that come with it I have really taken to loving my garden, I have a good sized garden on the left there was traditional boarders - I have extended these.............abit ! and then two lawns a path divides them on the right was a square that had been left rough so I put membrane down and gravelled it over - with a view to making a container / hot / tropical garden ? - who knows that's one thing I love about gardening you can experiment and change things around.

Once again its nice to be here and look forward to being a member

There are some pictures taken earlier today in my gallery

    Thanks

    John

Glad you have joined us. Pull up a chair and grab a yourself a cuppa :coffee:

Makes all the difference, having a place of your own, doesn't it.

I like how you have planted up your left hand border. The ferns look very healthy and lush. What have you planted up the obelisk?

I like your seating area. It looks very inviting.

Looking forward to seeing how your container area develops

      Hi M,

Thanks for the welcome on the obelisk in the bed I have planted x2 Clematis Hybrids "Voluceau" and "Hagley" and up the obelisk on the patio I have just planted Jasmine Stephanese, I'm new to having climbers in the garden so fingers crossed.

Hi again everyone I have just added another shot of the garden this ones an "overview" showing the new "container" "gravel" "hot" garden the second lawn and my latest project "a stumpery" in the top of the shot its an area that is very shady and I've put down bark chippings and planted a variety of ferns, hostas etc you might notice I have a fence panel missing and I'm glad I have since the original ferns off the bank can populate the area too

        Thanks again

        John

I love the way you've done your borders, so much more interesting than a straight line all the way down one side :)
