I know with normal potatoes you wait until Halums have died back before picking.
What about Earlies ? ....... planted a new potato variety ... in 2 potato grow sacks.

There is no sign of Halums dying back .,.. yet thought these would be ready by end of June ... do I pick anyway ? or wait

Which variety. I am new to all this but in my limited, only started this year experience, I can say that my Pentland javelins did not flower. I dug them up eventually. Some tiny ones, but others were good. I was happy as it was my first ever ever crop of potatoes. Don't know if this helps.

You don't have to wait for the halms to die back Sargan, after 12 weeks I'd say they will be ready. You can just try one root to begin with, if still too small leave for another week or two.
