Took a few snaps of the vulcan yesterday during its tour of the south. Not great, but did what I could with the sun in the wrong place (or me ). Click to enlarge. They always look a bit soft on here :(

I may have some photos that @ARMANDII will like soon :)

Where did you see her @NorthantsGeezer?The only viewing of her near us was Rutland but as we were at Mr Kandys sisters house all day missed the chance to go and see her but at least we saw her over our village and Sywell the other month:smile:

Great photos NG, lots of family and friends saw it yesterday but I missed it. Was hoping it might fly past my garden but no such luck :)

The clue is in the title @Kandy :heehee:

I went to RAF Bruntingthorpe, just inside the S.Leicestershire border :)
It was packed!! No trouble getting in at all (1ish), but getting out (4.30-5.30).....complete nightmare!
I waited until the queues had gone :).
An enjoyable day for £5. They must have made a fortune.
I will put a link to my flickr page up later, so you can see more photos if you wish.

Sorry @NorthantsGeezer i saw the headline on the front page and the end bit with the name was missing so all I read was Vulcans last flight over.I must have had some sleepy dust in my eyes when I was reading it and went straight on the page to quickly read the comments and see your photos, well that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it:snork:

There is talk of a few more flights towards the end of the month to try and let more people see her but I expect we shall miss it:sad:

I still don't know why all the multi millionaires in his country don't all donate a few million each to get the tooling made and so get the parts made like they have done with the Flying Scotsman. These iconic machines should be looked after a preserved because they sure do bring plenty of money into this cash strapped country of ours, but they can't be told:biggrin:

PS,yes would love to see more photos of her as you do take some really good photos of things when you are out and about:smile:

                Thanks @Kandy.
I can't post them on here , they look awful.
I will give you a link soon.

Yes, it's a shame she is not going to be flying soon. I know there are a few more flights expected, but I believe Bruntingthorpe said it will be their last fly by from her.
I am on holiday this week , so hoping to get out and about to take some more photos of whatever I come across :)
I have been going over to Sywell, so sometimes get something of interest over there. I got the vampire last weekend, on the ground, and in the air :blue thumb:. A lovely little jet from the 50's :)

Great shots @NorthantsGeezer ! I've seen it a few times, including when it came directly over my allotments where it made a turn, a fantastic sight.

I was just getting out of the car from Heathrow and it flew over. No chance to go in and grab my camera sadly but good to see it one last time.

Heard a loud one yesterday, but I'm surrounded by trees and large bushes so if its not overhead I rarely see anything.
Might not have been the Vulcan, but we rarely get much military stuff over flying here.

Nice pics @NorthantsGeezer , not seen it in years, but will always remember that roar when doing a steep climb at the end of the runway.

I missed it by being 20 miles out of its route, I did see it doing a low fly past in fog!!
This was in Lincolnshire at a passing out parade at a RAF base, came looming out of the fog with such a racket as well.

In the 60's when I were a lad we used to see them flying past very recognisable

Thanks for the comments guys, but when you look on Flickr at some of the images on there, you will see mine are rubbish
Here is a link to my page, but I am hoping to put much better stuff on there during the next 12 months or so. It is best to click on the albums tab, and keep clicking on the images until they can't get any bigger. You can see the quality better that way.

Glad you got a glimpse of her :) It's quite sad isn't it.

I had the same problem in Sywell. Heard a tremendous roar, and straight over my head, between the trees, a Spitfire and Seafire! Brilliant sight.
It howls! It did a circle over Bruntingthorpe, after it flew along the runway. We were lucky. Then it howled, and made tracks....literally :snork:

I remember when I was a kid, and it flew over Dunstable high street. Loved it :)
I would love a trip up to RAF Coningsbury :)

I saw an interview with the man in charge. He said it isn't for lack of funds but for lack of the skilled workmen who can service it.

That's right Shiney, it's being kept flying by folk coming out of retirement. That can't go on for such a complicated machine:

So it's not lack of money @Kandy , indeed it is very well funded, they are going to keep it running and a permanent exhibit with a new heritage centre being built.

Interestingly there is another group of people who have £40m invested intending to get Concorde flying by 2019, now that would be something very special :)
