About
Following a career in the hairdressing profession and raising a family, I decided it was time for a career change and chose Horticultural Mail Order, working for Spalding Bulb Company. The company was later taken over and moved out of the area and I took another job in Mail order. Within a few weeks I was offered a position by our parent company Bakker of Holland to help set up and run an admin office here in my own town of Spalding. After a few weeks we also took on board Spalding Bulb Company and its return to Spalding. I was the only employee for 6 weeks but we were soon up and running for the autumn season.
A few years ago with retirement approaching, the question to retire or not to retire – NOT – as our new Web site was due for launching and there was lots of work involved with product text , I got stuck in and closer to the products that we sold.
I have a passion for gardening and can always be found in the garden (working) even when it’s raining. Although a must is to spend time with my family and my grandchildren. I also love cooking and travelling and of course I always have time for a good natter with friends plus being an active WI member.
What I love about gardening is that you continue to learn about new things all the time - it’s also good therapy and exercise.- Loading...
