They don't look that bad to me. As you have plenty I would sow some now with grit on top and leave them outside in a sheltered place and some more in the warm in April. What have you got to lose?

What are we doing in the garden 2025
Both the Acers in question are red, can't remember if they are disectum or palmatum. Even if they are palmatum they are small leaves. As they are not in my garden and it's winter I can't check.
