I've never grown this @CanadianLori . I looked it up and it does appear to spread, my only concern would be the flowering length of time, I have grown other mesembryanthemums and I've found unless you are really dead heading every couple of days they stop flowering.

Indeed. However reality is that waiting 1-4 months for the game to respond would likely cause small boys to become big boys before the game concluded, they would get bored and tahe up gardening instead; an entirely more satisfactory experience....

Chiltern seeds has some interesting heritage and heirloom varieties.

A bamboo cane cut into short lengths also works well, using three in a triangle or four in a square. Easily hidden and reused or replaced.

The hybrid ones Devon Cream and one I was sold as Luna Moth (but isn't, it's like a bigger Devon cream) both flowered well last year. I'm amazed yours are all still green. Even the ones in my cold greenhouse aren't. I'm a sucker for hedychium, roscoea etc...
