Must admit I do cover mine, but only slightly, the birds used to pull them out, or maybe as the roots formed they pushed themselves out, but I plant with a trowel in a shallow hole these days, then just cover.Tried more walla walla seed a while back and still no show.

Yeah it's always difficult to find heritage seeds or plants locally, they only sell the varieties that the general public recognise, I get mine online

bought maybe 6 punnets of 4 primroses from coop when they went on sale for 1£ per punnet. theyre half desicated but due to evolving for summer dormancy theyll be just fine. they have yellow, white, red, pink and blue ones, but i think the white ones are the nicest

Not exactly pretty at this time of year, but really atmospheric. The ancient Gopa woodland is a five minute walk from our home and, although we didn't quite make it to the top this time, it's a good workout for the legs too.
