Anyway last year I managed to grow my first Peonie after several years of trying, as soon as it flowered and I was proud of my handy work I got the hose tangled around it and it snapped. Doh.

@LilyTL, yes, you can re-use the compost from the pots but you should remove any roots first. The removed compost would benefit from some granular fertiliser being mixed with it and/or some bagged...

Pot grown Camelia being destroyed by Squirrels
I have squirrels around here and mostly they just raid the bird feeder, maybe strip a few buds off of trees in the spring they do like fresh growth, but seem to just drop it rather than eating...
