Magpie attack! Magpies pulling strands from trees

Happens every year with our Magpies, even our Blackbird has tried pulling Trachy fibres off. It does no harm to the plant to the plant all.

    Phormium which one

Phormiums can suffer in cold, wet winters, especially if you have clay soil. I thought of Yucca as an alternative too. They have an upright, less arching habit so might suit you better.

    What's your weather like 2026

I felt really cold today so heating is back on. Still have leccy blanket and fleecy bedding on too. Although the temps aren’t that cold, this wind mixed with rain is most miserable.

Latest moan from you and me 2026

I'd forgotten about the clocks changing when I woke up and as OH had already left, I didn't know whether he had changed the sitting/kitchen room ones before he left or not. I also couldn't remember whether smartphones automatically changed so didn't want to rely on that time.I was very confused!

Am i understanding this correctly ?

It didn't strike me that way at all. Just someone asking for advice, concerned about doing the wrong thing for their plants. In my book that is being sensitive to a plant's needs.:)
