I think I'll just do my usual and mix jacks magic with ji no3 and sharp sand.It works ok but was hoping for a cheaper option.I bought a bag or two of some unknown stuff a couple of years ago...

Yesterday pm I got into the greenhouse, pricked on a number of tomato seedlings. Hope they will cope with the double shock, of coming out of the propagator as well as the roots disturbance. No choice really as there's not enough space to leave them in the propagator any longer.

Magpie attack! Magpies pulling strands from trees
Happens every year with our Magpies, even our Blackbird has tried pulling Trachy fibres off. It does no harm to the plant to the plant all.

That looks very similar to the one my brother has. We had colder than -5c here this year and it suggests burgandy spires can only take a lite frost, so perhaps similar cultivars are the same.
