    I've only ever used it myself as a soil improvement. You can usually only get it in bulk, not really looked to see if you can get it in bags.

    Yes a moat is probably better, but I am so clumsy I'd probably knock everything and end up with water everywhere. Also you need to be very sure that the pot doesn't already have a slug population....
