Hello all. I’ve recently moved into my house and need to improve the garden. It has drainage issues as water pools when it rains and doesn’t soak away for a while, there’s no soil, just sand and I think it needs levelling. It’s only the lower tier I’m wanting to do for now, needed a quick fix before spring as my dog loves going out and getting extra sandy in it which is a pain. Was thinking gravel and maybe decking, which I guess is quick but not so pleasing on the eye. I’d love some ideas from anyone as I don’t have a great eye for this kind of stuff. (This is a pic from before we moved in, the ground isn’t as level)

Hi Darryl, The way the stepping stones are raised tells a story..
I like the pagoda style shed at the rear.
It looks an obvious sump on that lower level but we have had a particularly wet winter thus far which obviously hasn't helped.
Think I'd dig down to see exactly what you've got under the sand first of all.
