    Hi Davina
These are Californian poppies (Eschscholzia californica, E. caestiposa, E maritima, E mexicana) Easy to come by, seeds are available in Wilko's and any garden centre (& cheap too) too late to sow for flowers this year, but you can sow straight where they are to flower in August/September for early flowers next year or March/April for later flowers. If they are happy, they will self seed, and if you deadhead they will flower for ages and ages. They like sun & well drained soil, but really aren't too fussy - no need to feed or water just leave them alone. You can get different colours too (flame red, milky white, soft peach with fluted petals). I've just dug up a load from one of the gardens that I work in as the owner can't stand them( ) I think they are lovely, and have liberated some of the babies which are now growing in my own garden ;) Have a look at the ones on offer from Thomson & Morgan - scroll down to "Eschscholzia"

I really like it when they are just about to flower and you can take their little hats off to help them out. All will become clear when you get some [IMG]
