I have a big(ish) garden which I am supposed to share with two other flats, but since neither of my neighbours are interested, it has slowly become 'my' garden.
I have been a little on and off over the years with its upkeep, due to either lack of time, when I was working like a mad dog every hour of the day and night - including weekends - or suddenly finding myself 'redundant' with lots of time on my hands, but little money to do what I'd like with it.... So, over the years, it has gone from a very productive vegetable and flower patch:
to an overgrown nettles and brambles jungle, a playground for the little foxies family, a squirrel I've nicknamed 007, and a dump for the local slobs....

Anyhoo, just been made redundant again, and despite my best efforts, since it looks like most employers think you're only good for the recycling bin if you're on the wrong side of 50 nowadays, I'm planning to get back into gardening, while also trying to secure a job that will leave me enough time to have a life on the side....

Here is my blank canvass to start from.... I face south-south-east, but as you can see, lots of shade, from trees and buildings. I am not sure how you'd describe the soil, it can get really dry and dusty, but at the same time, nettles, brambles and general 'weedy' things grow super well - I am less successful with proper vegetables
Any suggestions, advice, tips and tricks welcome, as well as lots of encouragement!
I'm hoping to turn this garden into a heaven of peace, grow some veggies, all of that as close to free as possible!!!
