I have had badgers scratching the bark of my spruce trees, but the bark on these is fairly thick and fibrous, so it just looks like hair coming off the tree trunk. Could also been cats, but cats have never been that fond of my garden.

MSNA very interesting Guardian article on AI. It is hopeful that the AI bubble will burst and then legislation etc can be put in to control harms. I'm not so sure. Super intelligent AI will be a force very difficult to control once out there.
