cardoon/artichoke seeds are unfortunately bitter, but sunflower seeds are good. i havent had luck with them though as the heads seem to rot after seed set. I think if you raise them indoors early...

Well done @pete! It came with a plastic flower and as the plant gets bigger I increase the height. It's only a few years old. My previous one did flower, but the photo is on hard copy somewhere....

Help With Growing Seeds
I think you end up with stronger plants by overwintering, maybe just my thinking, long time since I've grown them. Tbh.Fox gloves and wallflowers are a bit tougher IMO.
