Max 11c and sunny intervals if we're lucky today.Wet, windy, sunny etc. over the Easter weekend. I always think it's a shame that nowhere is open on Easter Sunday. Not even a garden centre.

This one is now a year old since I bought it. They seem to live between 5 and 10 years. I imagine that in a pot its lifespan will be shorter and it will need larger containers as time goes on...

That's sad Are they short of food or too many predators. I read that ferrets had been cleared from an island recently so the eggs and chicks can survive now and help population recovery.

Rat problem
We have 2 cats of our own tho only one hunts and she does small rodents, not rats. The other is clueless. There are farm cats just behind us and feral cats too but we had dogs until almost 2...

Yes a moat is probably better, but I am so clumsy I'd probably knock everything and end up with water everywhere. Also you need to be very sure that the pot doesn't already have a slug population....
