How big are your Astrantias and Heleniums @simone_in_wiltshire? I leave my Heleniums in the ground all year, they are hardy. I don’t grow Astrantias any more but they too are hardy and shouldn’t need winter protection unless the plants are very small with not much of an established root system.

The speakers always seem to have some reason to be globe trotting, just taking advantage of their position, like they all do. The horrible little scroat that we had before was always doing the same.

Any recommendations for a good quality compost for growing vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers? Last year was a disaster and the compost I purchased was infested with fungus gnats.

You can always block out their faces to make them sort of 'anonymous' , but if they're in the distance and nobody can make out who they are it should not matter.
