    Sunflower seeds make quite nice microgreens, I used ones for birdseed, much cheaper! Batchelors dried peas are the best for pea shoots.

    Most of my pots are next to the house/shed/wall and I find this helps shelter them from the worst of the elements

    I may have missed something earlier but why don't you buy a growlight?You don't have to spend a fortune on them you can get one that looks like a fluorescent tube. Hang it up over your set-up....
