A salvia I would recommend is "Royal Bumble". From personal experience I've found it to be a really good flowering variety. As you are in Kent, you might be interested in Dysons nursery, they are salvia specialists . Dyson's Nurseries: specialists in growing Salvias in Kent

@GreenFingeredPete I agree re tomato seeds. I keep packets sealed in the fridge, and have had good germination of Purple Cherokee for 3 years. There were about 100 seeds in the packet - shame to waste them. I grew about 10, and gave spare youngsters to friends.
