    What's Looking Good February 2026

The bulbs in pots are beginning to do their stuff. Just need a bit more sun for the daffodils to come out too.

    Dying Privet Hedge

When walking I enjoy looking at dense pyracantha hedges. I know one house with nicely kept forsythia hedge to. I think two a managable. Would never go for cherry laurels though.

That's what I hoped :) And actually it's easy enough just to tug out and dispose of the extra bits should you not need them.

What are we doing in the garden 2026

I looked at the mud and just decided to pot up some Asclepias tuberosa roots that were delivered a couple of days ago, along with a Canna "Durban".

    Plant labels

I use pencil, then at the end of season I collect all the labels. The ones that didn't break from the light get washed (using sponge and soap), then I use eraser to clean whatever written.
