I always manage to find neighbours willing to help with the heavy stuff and we don't have many neighbours. We usually give them plants in exchange for their help, either from some we have grown in pots or if they like some plants in the garden we propagate them for them.

I thought the same when we first moved here and several clumps pf bluebells appeared the first spring. After 10 years or so they had spread all over, into the bases of shrubs etc. I've been digging out as many as I can and slicing off the rest every year since.

Our local shelter which is carefully scrutinized to make sure donations are not wasted and staff are kind have just, at the beginning of the month, received a $10 million dollar gift. They need bigger facilities and this will make that possible. It's nice to see these very generous acts...
