I had a mower with a cable some years ago, I think I only managed to put up with it for a couple of seasons. The cable just gets in the way all the time and you spend more time avoiding it than actually cutting the grass IMO. And the more cable the bigger the problem.

...just be aware of the effect of salt water runoff buildup affecting other plants nearby... It might just be easier to use unsalted water from a kettle - perhaps if you have a little left over...

Advice on raised beds please
When I grew flowers for my daughter's wedding I used 2m x 1m. I had clay soil and I mixed bought compost into it. It was in my vegetable garden and I had Love in a Mist for years afterwards!
