    I think theyre probably susceptible to a good hard frost, they say -10C but I suspect its more like -6C so ill probably protect it on frosty nights.

    A simple way to think about it is that a tree or shrub feeds from its roots. The roots spread through the ground so it is not feeding close to the trunk/main stem. So no need to mulch/compost...

    Yesterday there was a lot of loud "honk honk" noise going on on top of the house. It went on for some time. Eventually the culprits flew off - two Canada geese. Never had them land on the roof...
