We used the Granules last year and it is a slowish process though you do not really notice it because the grass justs out competes the moss. Everything just stays green, no smells or raking up etc. The pack does state that if the lawns soil has a low PH its best to apply their lime some weeks...

I've got a couple of cemellias and they get full sun in summer, having said that the are free standing not backed up against a wall or fence. Mine were planted on the shady side of the fence but have grown above it now.I'd still leave it for now and watch it, you can move it later even next...

You can do either Spring or Autumn, it really depends on whether you are happy to look at the moss and weeds over summer. Both can progress between now and Autumn, encroaching on and weakening your existing grass.

That looks very similar to the one my brother has. We had colder than -5c here this year and it suggests burgandy spires can only take a lite frost, so perhaps similar cultivars are the same.
