Luiza can't do that Jiffy, the lawn was over seeded.Walking on it at the moment is not going to help it's problems, it needs time to recover.

Seed will win every time, you can select the right seed mixture for your situation. Turf you get a limited choice, it's main advantage is obviously being much quicker.

Did you put growmore under the turf? This would have helped it knitt into the ground better and fast. Depending on temp it can take upto 3 months to root properly

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Jenni. It's always difficult to get anything to grow in the shade of a tree and the roots will draw moisture and nutrients from the soil. The only way you can guarantee any growth there is to build a raised bed around it and put in plants that are happy in a shady area.

Once you have done all the above leave for two weeks. Any weed seed already in the soil will start to grow and you can just rake off on a sunny day , this will help when you are ready to sow the grass seed and will cut down any weeds seeds that may compete with the grass , good luckSpruce

You can buy a complete weed, feed and moss killer if you want to do the job the easy way but some gardeners prefer to treat the lawn in stages. To be honest there's not a lot of difference between the two. Without a hosepipe it would be easier for you to use a granular type which you scatter....

Welcome to GC Ben. You can actually buy seed specially produced for shaded areas. I don't think one particular brand is better than another but any local nursery will give you guidance as to what to buy.
