Probably potting mainly was going to make a JI type and using there recipe which requires lime , but agree I have previously not used lime...
Has anyone used pelleted garden lime when making there own potting compost

you will find they always try to leanover in nature they do this so as water will not collect in the center of the plant which would rot the main...
