You okay Zigs? We just posted at the same time. Do you know, I've not looked round GC yet this evening, I've been on here an hour and a half!
Modern cars are so much safer than older ones. The driver and passengers now sit inside a very tough cocoon, with the bodywork doubling as a big padded coat to absorb and redirect impact forces. The consequence is that while it often looks horrific, because the bodywork has done its job and folded and crumpled in all the right places, its often not so bad. Well obviously it is bad, terrifying, but at least nowadays risk of injury (or worse) is drastically reduced. Check this out. The bloke in the white T-shirt with the silly and completely inappropriate (probably shock fuelled) grin on his face is the driver of the squashed car. The designers of both truck and car have done their jobs very well. Both have crumpled in all the right places, redirected impact forces in all the right directions, with the result that despite the mess, nobody was hurt.
Sorry, wasn't sure if it would reassure or scare. I was aiming for the former, but we can delete it if you like.
You were only trying to be helpful Clueless. You may worry about your twosome now, but wait until they become independent, they scare the life out of you! Ermmm........that's a flat Volvo!
