    +If you are with Tiscali or one of the many companies they have bought recently WOO it is getting more and more common. I think Cowboy Warehouse is starting to do the same thing. It is because too many email accounts are trying to connect at the same time. Should right itself in time but will happen again. Basically it's just rip-off Britain again.

    useless fact;

    If your ISP says ..............BT line required, guess who is providing the connections?
    its only cable companies that have their own phone lines, every one else rents them from BT

    And that's probably the only good reason for using BT as your ISP. I been using BT for years and while they seldom attain the connection speeds they advertise, they are pretty reliable. Though I do find that on occasions I get a 'can't connect' message. Never lasts longer than a few minutes though.

    Hi all and thats why i stick with bt now, a little more expensive but lets hope they reduce their broadband prices as they have just reduced their phone call prices to keep up with the competition.

    i never said there is anything wrong with BT, far from it, I have been with BT since? had BT BB since 2002

    mate went to TalkTalk, they cut him off, their error, they admited it, over a month to get reconected, waste of time.

    watergarden, bt has its moments :D :D not as bad as tiscali i went with them for a few months their broadband is useless so i went back to bt, I would never fall for that again, these companies offering faster broadband, cheaper prices its all a big con.
    :D :D

    Sky gets very good reports but you are right Linda. I was with Tiscali for a couple of months and asked them for a user migration advisory code. They pointed out that I had a one year contract and would have to pay the rest. I said 'Sue me then and I'll counter sue for damages and breach of contract on your part. i.e. charging for one speed and supplying another far slower'. So they sent a MAC. I switched to Pipex and they were excellent. Then 3 months later Tiscali took over Pipex which is now horrendously slow. So I'm going again. BT doesn't get great reports but it is certainly better than Tiscali or Cowboy Warehouse. I'll try Sky first though.

    For those of you that are with BT Broadband.

    Are you using "BT Broadband Talk"? This comes free with BT Broadband and you can plug a telephone into your BT Router and use the phone free. It depends which version of BT Braodband you have how much you get free. If you are on the basic level you can still get all your phone calls free at weekends and in the evenings. These calls are only allowed to normal inland telephone numbers (not premium rate or mobile etc). You also get overseas calls very cheap at those times. I spoke to some friends in the USA for an hour and it cost me 80p. Same thing to New Zealand.

    Always read the 'terms and conditions' [IMG] :D :D

    john I wouldnt even go with sky broadband at the moment its pretty new, friends of ours are with sky and they had problems getting into their mail, this went on for 2 months, our friends went mad telling them they were going to pull out, still think they are having problems.
    when i was with tiscali i got my migration code off them and heard nothing regarding a years contract, i had e-mails from them proving their services were bad and i threatened them to take me to court, as long as you get the migration code off them they cant do a thing.
    A friend of mine wasnt so lucky she couldnt get the migration code off them and had loads of arguments with tiscali, shes pleased now she is back with bt.
    I have bt total package pleased with it and i dont get many problems its quite fast.
