I have a couple of tins of wine kits, I know the yeast etc will not last much past its use
by date, but will the juice extract that is sealed in a tin last? only you hear of baked beans
etc that are still usable after many years, would this still apply if the juice extract was in a sealed tin?

Just seems a shame for it to go down the drain, when it could be used for a good cause...lol

The yeast might fail, but everything else should be OK. If intending to try using old yeast make a starter and only if that starts fementing vigorously open the rest of the stuff. You might have a load of Tartaric Acid crystals at the bottom of the concentrate, but hot water will dissolve those so everything in the can can be used.
