If it is under guarantee, take it back for repair. If it is not, you then have the balancing act as to whether it is actually worth (in financial terms) repairing.

I would lay money that it is either the panel itself, or the edge connector onto it that has failed, and the only way to resolve that is with a physical repair which involves splitting the glass out of the metal enclosure, repairing the fault and then re-bonding the screen.

A quick look at this (not necessarily your model!) gives a repair price of £79.99; I can vouch for that company by the way, as I have used them myself for phone repairs and they are excellent.

A new tablet is £175.70, so another £90 over the repair - - BUT, if your current tablet is a number of years old this may be the better option taking into account the age of the battery, wear on the charge socket and wear on switches.

OK, for clarity, I did NOT go looking for the cheapest price - - I made a one click quick glance to give an indication of likely repair or replacement costs. Please make your own judgement as to whether repair or replacement is the best option, and whichever you choose, I would suggest shopping around to ensure that you get the best value for money.

I did , but there's probably even something better out there at the moment, such as with free accessories and maybe some cashback (10% quidco? Argos Black Friday Deals, Cashback, Vouchers & Discounts | Quidco ) that, if it's that tablet rather than something like an S2, cost of repair complete with all the hassle involved is getting close to a new tablet and peace of mind for another year.

P.S. I think there might be a Free £5 Argos Voucher with Online Orders Over £30 at Argos at the moment, getting it down even more. (seperate to the £10 off from Paypal).
