Hi I'm new here and new to gardening (on my own lol) I don't have a proper garden just a terrace/patio... really its the flat roof of the shops I live above so its container gardening all the way for me. I started it in June so its a long way from where I want it to be.

I have various vegetables tomatoes, loose leaf lettuce ect growing in pots and a 30" square veg planter with various veggies sown in and a small collection of pots and containers with flowers growing. Got a few flowering plants sown ready for next spring/summer.

I have 2 small citrus trees (Lime and Mandarin), a grape vine and some strawberries on order that I should have by November... it's like waiting for Christmas.. I'm really excited about the citrus.. oh and the grapes! :)

Container gardening really isn't as easy as it looks especially if you have a small space... where I live its exposed (no shade), but sheltered(lots of surrounding buildings) and faces South so in the Summer everything cooks... anything that needs anything but full sun (unless I create the shade) is a big NO NO for me as I found out to my cost by planting plants that were unsuitable and just cooked in the heat! :( Pots and containers take alot of work aswell!

Well I look forward to getting lots of advice as I go on my adventure.

    Cheryl x

[IMG] Cheryl.. Your gardening adventure sounds a nice way to get into gardening.. Nothing is easy in gardening as it is always a challenge, but it is great fun & very rewarding when you get it right.. Looking forward to seeing you around the forum.. :thumb:
