If you have any rocks lying round, decent ones useable in a Rockery, or you know of anywhere I can get them please shout! :)

Oh and I'm in North East Wales if that helps, but anywhere in the North West is fine too.

I was very fortunate to get a few bagfuls of flint from an old rockery via Freecycle. It wasn't even what I'd replied to, but the pots I asked for had already gone and the person who had "claimed" the stones didn't turn up. So, she kindly contacted me to give me first dibs on them.

Are you a member of your local Freecycle Alan? Also try your local free ads (either paper copy or online), they sometimes have stuff like that on offer.

I have rock and I'm in the North West, but no good to you Alan with a rather large 'pond' in between! :)

Being serious for a moment (unlike me), unless you can get it very local, its going to work out almost as cheap to just order it in. Any vehicle capable of carrying a significant quantity of stone (and that would include a large car) is going to sting you heavily on petrol to pull all the extra weight over any distance, so what you might save by getting freebies/cheap deals, you might spend on fuel to collect it.

True. But I'm often Manchester, Liverpool and Burnley way so if anything popped up round these areas I could pick up then.
My car is massive too (Skoda Superb) and returns 60mpg+ obviously would be less with lots of rock though :p

Gothilde. She is a Volvo 940 Celebration. She has a 2.3 litre turbo (petrol) with an automatic gearbox (viscous torque converter, none of this newfangled dual clutch geartronic milaki), taking all the horses to the rear wheels via a big heavy drive shaft and a big heavy diff. She is lovely though.
