Tomato growing tip

Which one is the tip as not sure what to take off on this tomato plant.

You often find they fork like that, there is a reason for it, but forget what it was.

Either way I generally take off the weaker looking one.

What varieties are you growning this year ?

Our main plants are going to be Tumbling Tom as they grew so well last year, even the neigbours want some plants to grow their own in tubs, so have a bench of about 16 young plants waiting to get outside if the cold holds off.

 

One of the plants I binned as I snapped the growing tip off :-( This one along with 3 others is the Cherokee Smokey Purple as the tomatoes taste so lovely and a good size. I'm also growing Mr Stripey, Black Cherry I think they are called and San Marzano again but didn't have much luck last year with them and tumbling toms.

 

Looks to me like you lost the main growing point and two new ones have formed, as ricky said just pinch out one of the shoots and train the other as a new main leader.

Toms are so easy going, its difficult to do anything that stops them fruiting.
