    Thanks! I'd not have go the first but had a feeling the second may be a toadflax of some kind, yet just couldn't put my finger on it. Now you say it seems so obvious. My mind is a bit elsewhere these days - can't think why - so not firing on all cylinders!

    Hi @SimonZ the Cymbalaria , is probably a garden escapee as it's not a naturally occurring British wild flower ( although it does grow wild here now ). It's part of the Snapdragon family... Antirrhinum Cymbalaria or Antirrhinum Hederafolium. It makes a brilliant rockery ordeal plant and is easy to control.
