61906F0C-5983-4741-B98D-90C6AB27C0AD.jpeg And so on Tuesday I went into hospital for my second foot op and this one was more difficult than the last one as the toe joint had disintegrated due to the Arthritis so the surgeon had to remove all that and now my big toe is shorter than the next one but if it means being able to walk relatively pain free then I won’t mind as long as it doesn’t affect my balance:biggrin:

I slept on and off for most of the day yesterday crashing out just as a good programme was about to start (Ray Mears on channel 42 and The Apprentice:biggrin:)

Mr Kandy is just cooking my lunch and he is taking good care of me:yay:

Also had a nice Goldcrest and Long Tailed Tit in the garden this morning so being laid up isn’t so bad after all and as it is bitterly cold outside so I have been told I am in the right place:biggrin:

Thought I had better do an X-ray photos so you don’t see all the dried bxxxd:biggrin:

This morning I went ice skating with the grandchildren. It was a trip organized by the school. It was great. I used to skate regularly in my teens and early 20s. It must be over 20 years since I last tried it.

Thanks for the lovely flowers @roders they have brightened my day:wub2: Will be glad when I can star to go outside which is the downside to this op but as Mr Kandy keeps reminding me of how bitterly cold and drizzly it is outside,I think I might be in the best place right now:biggrin:

Hope your recovery is going well and that your family are looking after you:smile:

Thanks for your good wishes M they are much appreciated

Speedy healing to you @Kandy ! You are definitely better off inside at the moment. It keeps being very cold, windy, frosty and icy here - not nice weather for going out in at all! Keeping warm inside is an excellent idea, hope you stay relaxed and healing is speedy. :grphg:

@Kandy and @roders speedy recovery please!

I've got the first batch of Christmas cake in the oven. One thing great about baking lots is that I get lots of eggshells to add to my soil :)

I am attending a luncheon with a dozen of my gal pals. At a posh place. It's the only time I treat myself to a fancy meal out so really excited about it.

9BFAA895-E949-4DA7-BFFE-06BE08B8D598.jpeg Haven’t done much at all today apart from chilling out and have been watching quiet a few Canadian Christmas films and although some of them are a bit corny it is so nice to see all the snow and Christmas lights on the films:biggrin:

Yesterday lunch time Mr Kandy drove me down to the hospital for my first dressing change and I am pleased with how good my foot looks and the surgeon did a good job with his stitches:biggrin: He came into the room as my foot was being redressed and asked how I felt having a shortened big toe but as I said as long as it doesn’t affect my balance when I walk then I don’t mind.I should have wound him up and said yes I did mind and what was he going to do about it:snorky:

Mr Kandy has been busy looking after me and making a start with putting up my tree and Christmas decs inside and outside:smile: As they are forecasting the possibility of snow tomorrow or is it Sunday? I have requested that he takes me out for a drive so I can appreciate it all.Much better than the strong winds and torrential rain we have had today

We took some sacks of rabbit food to a local wildlife rescue today who also have a number of rabbits for rehoming. I probably shouldn't say too much on a public forum. It's a very sad place to visit and upsets me for days. I wish I could win the lottery and make a real difference to those bunnies lives.

This is Aubrey, who came from the rescue almost a year ago, to be Peppermint's husbun.

Owning an animal sanctuary is a nice thought. There are lots of animals in lots of santuaries. Which ones do you choose to help? Where do you draw the line.I would think being a philanthropist is not easy. The money would be nice though.
