@My Clay Jungle You can get Special Potato sacks from seed companies ( DT Brown is one ) which are long lasting and robust. They can also be used for Tomatoes, Cucumbers etc.

That's right, I have them in my garden, they come in from the hedgerows. I leave them in odd corners because they're pretty and brighten the place up, but I get rid of lots too.

would upgrading to 36v Ryobi mower stop it slowing down
I suspect that you could achieve the result required with usimg half the width of cut.Its likely that the first time over has tougher growth ,later cuts will have more sap .

...just be aware of the effect of salt water runoff buildup affecting other plants nearby... It might just be easier to use unsalted water from a kettle - perhaps if you have a little left over...
