Many supermarket tomatoes are created for them by breeders and are F1 Hybrids. Seed from any F1 tomatoes will not come true to type but will have characteristics of the parents - which can be good or bad. Seed saved from Heirloom varieties will come true.

Get the ivy off the fence. It will work its way through the paneling and eventually damage it as well as upsetting your neighbour.

We used the Granules last year and it is a slowish process though you do not really notice it because the grass justs out competes the moss. Everything just stays green, no smells or raking up etc. The pack does state that if the lawns soil has a low PH its best to apply their lime some weeks...

You can do either Spring or Autumn, it really depends on whether you are happy to look at the moss and weeds over summer. Both can progress between now and Autumn, encroaching on and weakening your existing grass.

HiGabion baskets would work a treat and can be made into a seating area at the same time , depends on how much you have to spend ,.. but if using wood you bein the same position in years to come

That looks very similar to the one my brother has. We had colder than -5c here this year and it suggests burgandy spires can only take a lite frost, so perhaps similar cultivars are the same.

From the new picture I agree that the stems and bud do look like an ash. Looking at the old picture again where I thought it had lobed leaves, I believe that might be your neighbours tree. I took the green to be one tree and not two and I could only see leaf detail on one half.
