    In this P.C. country of ours is it not time to stand and be counted.
    Defend your right to put crosses on the bottom of our sprouts.

    Christmas dinner wouldn't be complete without
    crosses on the sprouts!

    We've very seldom cut crosses in ours as it doesn't seem to make all that much difference. We like them on the under-cooked side of soggy and with a little bit of "crunch".
    I picked our Christmas dinner ones today and they are all about 1 inch so will not require much cooking. [​IMG]
    (Two chickens in the oven and I'm salivating like a Pavlovian dog with the smell that is pervading the house) [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Think I'll just have to go and make myself a cheese and marmite toastie or I'll end up chewing the desk

    Love 'em, and they are even better, added to the left over mash tomorrow and fried. Cold goose, and bubble and squeek - wonderful.

    The bubble and squeak I could go for ... but me'thinks not the cold goose! :eek: Couldn't even cope with my cold duck but the little furry critters will enjoy that tomorrow.

    This last couple of years I got myself a sprout tree. Have you seen them? A nice long sprout stalk with brussels still intact. When you get it home, cut the end off (need a hackasw to do that!!!) and stand it in a couple of inches of water in a cool place. It's like having them straight out of the garden! yum yummmm!!

    WHEN I can get them here .....I prefer ros�© to crosses on mine :D
    I cook them just until 'crunchy' transfer to a HOT frying type pan and throw in a large glug of ros�© wine which will evaporate as it cooks and add a "zing" to the taste ..... M-L :cool:
