Conifers

    Does anybody know how high the common garden conifers grow once they have been cut back,I stopped mine at six foot but they just curl round and carry on growing skywards.:what: Thankyou for any help.

    They will just keep going, depending on species and variety.

    You cant just cut the top off and not expect regrowth, you need to trim at least once a year, possibly twice, at the required height.

    Its best to stop them a foot or so below the required height and then trim any reshoots.

    I've had problems with conifers, I don't want to scare you but it may be worthwhile you taking a look at my thread called Leylandii.....Gone, on 3rd September in General Gardening Discussion. A lot of people are unaware of the problems they can cause. :)
