What is your view in regards making use of cows milk regularly in your diet, in your mature age or further?

I thought it was allright to drink a lot of milk, but today I read in a website that it is absolutely the wrong thing to do...!!!

Dunno. I get through a lot of semi-skimmed because i love it. It's supposed to be good for getting calcium and preventing osteoporosis (though regular load -bearing exercise also does the job) but bad for upping your cholesterol levels. It's quite high in calories, and probably not very good for cows or the environment.

I am mature. (Physically, at least.)

What website is this, anyway? There are websites that tell you just about anything, doesn't mean we have to believe them.

I have un skimmed on cornflakes in the morning and semi-skimmed in tea during the day. I think the calcium in the milk is good for you, but as already said, in moderation, people worry too much these days!!

I've read loads of bad stuff about drinking cow's milk .... there are all sorts of nasties in there including growh hormones that are fed to the cows by farmers, puss, blood etc etc ...

add that to the fact that humans are the only species of mammal that drinks milk from another mamal .... and humans are the only mammals that drink milk in their adulthood

however .... I still drink milk in my coffee and on my cereal/porridge .... I only buy organic whole milk ... costs a few pence more but it's supposed to be better than the non-organic

I'm a bit fussy with eggs aswell .... I only buy organic free range eggs

That's what happens when you get your cat to feed the cows.

I drink loads of milk. Whole milk at that. I'd say I have 3 or 4 cups per day. I'm lucky in that I'm not lactose intolerant, otherwise I'd have to forego my favourite drink.

I'm not aware of any adverse effect on my health from it. It seem to be pretty strong and healthy, rarely get ill, and in my entire life to-date, despite more than my fair share of knocks, I've only ever had 3 broken bones. A broke a bone in my hand in a silly incident when I was in my early 20s, broke my nose when I was being cool on a windy day, and the door that I didn't bother to hold slammed literally in my face, and a rib when I fell about 20ft out of an oak tree, with the heavy branch I was swing from (which broke off because it was rotten) following close behind. So all proper knocks.

I'm fairly sure I've seen many news articles about one species of mammal acting as surrogate mother to the orphaned infants of other species. And I'm also fairly sure that cats and dogs like the occasional bowl of cows milk as a treat.

It may be worth thinking about what happens to calves so that their mothers can continue to produce milk for us to drink...

Soya milk may be an acquired taste, but it aint so bad...
