Hi my name is Hanna and I have just joined.
I joined because I am hoping to grow some plants this year but I am a total newbie and don't know where to start and looking for tips.
I hope to grow tomatoes and chilliest but think it maybe to late to sow them now. I also want to grow carrots and a few other things but I will only be able to grow in containers so not sure what I can grow, if anything :(

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Hannah. :) We're a friendly bunch and always ready to help with any questions you may have. It's not to late to sow tomatoes and chillies if you get them under way very soon. Start them off on a bright window sill indoors and they will soon come up.

Hi Hanna, get your seeds in girl! I'm growing peas and beans in big plastic trough planters this year (never tried it before) and just sticking the canes in them.. I was going to do carrots, parsnips and leeks in veg sacks but have decided not to do it, don't think I'm quite ready to grow root veg so will be sticking to peas, beans, spuds in grow sacks, a pepper in a pot, different toms in pots, and one type (100 and 1000s) in hanging baskets, might try sweetcorn, got the seed but no pot/sack atm and onions in a pot. I've got rhubarb, blackberries and an apple tree in pots which I've bunged in this year so time will tell with them. Have grown strawbs in pots for last few years and they always seem to do well, minus last year as they were young plants. Don't get discouraged if something goes wrong though, its all trial and error until you find what works for you :)

        Hello Hannah
Welcome to the forum. No, it is not too late to start tomatoes - or you can purchase seedlings if you want to be a little ahead of the game. Chillies can take 3 weeks to germinate so you may also want to buy seedling here too - but you can save some of their seeds and then get an early start next year with your own collected seeds :)
