Iffy Email

    Had a iffy email for some company i know nowt about, didn't open it but delede it, when to the deleded folder to emptey it, but as i open the deleded folder that email is highlighted (which would have open it) being it's opened in the deleded folder will it do any harm to my computer ie bugs viris etc

    Is your email a web based one like Hotmail or GMail or anything like that? If so, then any potentially harmful content wont have even been physically on your PC.

    No, i don't have hotmail or gmail, just ones that with broadband package then through to MS outlook express

    Haven't used Outlook Express for a while but you can often right click on the folder name in the list of folders and then select "empty deleted folder" or some such message. Or right click on the email itself then select "delete".

      If you're worried, just run a virus scan. I presume you have an antivirus app running?

        I have the free version of avast! on mine and it keeps things squeaky clean

          Thank you all,HsH i nomally do things that way but had one of those moments and went into the deleted folder and was not sure if it would put things on the PC that i didn't ask for or want

          Ran scan after i deleted it and a de frag as well, I was asking because tec things can be hard to follow :paladin:
