I posted a query in the ID section earlier today regarding my poorly lilac, but I noticed it didn't appear in the "What's new?" list only under the ID section. Someone spotted it as I had two useful replies. Did I do something wrong/post it incorrectly?

I believe what you are describing fushsialady has been discussed before, basically you will not see your own threads or replies in "What's new?" until another user replies afterwards as then their reply would make it new to you if that makes sense?

If you go to the top of the what's new board, on the right you will see newest posts.
If you click that you will see "All Recent Messages" - INCLUDING those you have posted - hopefully

Just to phrase the earlier answers, slightly differently, you are deemed to have "already read" your own posts / replies, hence they don't appear in What's New (nor does any other thread that you have "viewed/read").
