They are missing something in this story.

I've experienced 2 tidal surges while fishing, one where both my rods were suddenly dragged side ways as the harbour filled up with water, nearly a metre in less than a minute. The water nearly came over The Cannon Wall, which is an island, so that was a bit scary.

There were no static build ups.

Underwater landslides occur when sediment build up on the continental shelf slides down the slope to the oceanic plate (forming a sediment called greywacke)

This, although not on the magnitude of an earthquake would still register on a seismograph.

They are overlooking another thing that happened over the Atlantic at the same time on Monday, that could cause a Tidal surge and a static build up.

Now that would do it :dbgrtmb:

I'm wondering if it caused any power surges ? The Earths magnetic field is like a giant dynamo, pass a rock of that size & speed thru it and somethings gonna get generated.

If they did warn us next time, where would we hide:what::OUCH:

Funny that business about the power surge on Monday, i rang the County Council to sort out an issue on Monday..i work for them, so work with different departments all the time. The entire computer system had gone down on Monday and the only explanation was the heatwave - hmm only in England! :OUCH:

Can't find the exact time, but I think Gardeners Corner has got the world exclusive on this correlation.

How do we make it go viral now ?
